The Ten Day Masters: Find Your Saju Type
The ten heavenly stems (천간, 天干, cheongan) are the top characters of the four pillars. The stem of your day pillar is your day master (일간, 日干, ilgan), the single character that represents you. It is the closest thing Saju has to a “sign”, though it comes from your exact birthday rather than a month-long range.
The ten stems are the five elements in their Yang and Yin forms. Each has a traditional image that readers use to describe it.
甲 Gap (갑): Yang Wood 陽木, the tall tree
Stands tall, never bends, quietly becomes the tallest thing in the room. Steady, upright and always growing. Tall-tree people lead without asking permission and keep reaching for the light long after everyone else has gone home. Their loyalty has deep roots, and once they decide you are theirs, storms do not change it.

How to find yours
Your day master cannot be worked out from your birth month or year alone. The day pillar moves through a sixty-day cycle that has run without interruption for many centuries, so it has to be looked up or calculated. Enter your birthday on the home page and your day master appears in the result. Your birth time is not needed for it, with one exception: if you were born between 11 p.m. and midnight, tradition counts you as the next day.
Saju is a cultural tradition, and this site treats it as entertainment. There is no scientific evidence that a birth chart determines personality or predicts the future.
